Four generations ago, the Follett Family established the Follett Educational Foundation (FEF) because we believe the sons and daughters of every Follett associate should have an opportunity for higher education.
Each year, the Follett Educational Foundation offers two scholarship programs to the students of Follett associates:
1) Follett Educational Foundation Annual Scholarship Program-More than 100 students of Follett associates receive their share of $300,000 in scholarships based on academic achievement and financial need.
2)"Take the First Step" Scholarship Program-Awards deserving freshman students regardless of family income levels.
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
My name is Britten Follett. 145 years ago, my great-great grandfather founded Follett Corporation. As a fifth generation family member, I'm proud to be working for Follett and carrying on the legacy of excellence in education. In 2012, I took on the role as president of the Follett Educational Foundation. I was blessed with a great education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. That experience not only prepared me for my first career as a television reporter, inspired me to be an author, and eventually move back home to work in the family business, but most importantly it taught me priceless life lessons about teamwork, friendship, and the importance of lifelong learning. I believe every student should have those same opportunities. As the cost of higher education continues to increase, the Foundation's mission is more important than ever.
Thanks to our generous donors, golf outing participants, my team of trustees and our dedicated selection committee, last year the Foundation gave out $300,000 in scholarships to 150 very worthy students.
